RECENT NEWS AND UPDATES
2009 Symposium:
The 2009 Symposium was held on April 3-4-5, 2009. AAW Board of
Directors member Dale Larson of Gresham, Oregon was in attendance and
made an AAW presentation at the Friday
evening get acquainted session. Dale brought along a collection of
turnings by world renowned turners for display in the instant gallery
and for a special presentation at the
Saturday evening banquet. The featured demonstrators Greg Haugen,
Tom Larson and Don Wattenhofer provided excellent demonstrations and
instruction for the attendees. More

The club will be placing a coop tool order with Craft Supplies. Tool orders must be submitted no later than the May 9th
meeting. A link to the order form is at the right side of this
page.
CLUB CHALLENGES The meeting schedule has been set for 2009 (see
schedule page). In addition to the scheduled demonstrations
turning challenges have been proposed. For the May meeting members should bring a project
they learned during the Symposium. With the May meeting on Pen
Turning the June challenge will be to bring a pen and a pen exchange
will be held for a pen made by another member. The turning challenge
for July will be a bird house, miniature or full sized. Membership Renewal:
Please remember to renew your membership. After April 1st members
not renewing will be dropped from the membership list. Annual DWT
memberships of $20.00 are due as of January 1st, 2009. You may
send your renewal to the address listed below or bring it to the next
meeting.
